Frequently Asked Questions
- 01Managing both in-store and dropship inventory is simple with Shopify. Set up two inventory locations: one for "Dropship" products from OrderEase and another for "Physical" inventory in your store. This lets you track stock levels separately and customize shipping settings for each. You can even enable in-store pickup for physical items while dropship products are shipped directly to customers. It's all about keeping things organized and seamless for your business!
- 02Yes. Our middleware, OrderEase provides a robust API layer that allows you to programmatically access SKUs, product descriptions, high-resolution imagery, pricing, and availability. For retailers running custom eCommerce environments, true headless integrations are supported. This allows you to maintain full control of your storefront experience while OrderEase powers the product data, pricing, and order orchestration behind the scenes. Comprehensive API documentation and technical resources are available for your development team.
- 03Our middleware, OrderEase acts as the standardization layer that keeps supplier availability aligned with your storefront in near real time. Inventory is pulled directly from each supplier’s system and synchronized across connected eCommerce retailer platforms. As items sell, inventory counts are updated and pushed across the network, helping protect margins, prevent overselling, and maintain a reliable customer experience.
- 04Delivery times can vary by supplier and by season, particularly for live nursery stock. Our middleware, OrderEase ensures orders move quickly and accurately through the supply chain; however, specific click-to-ship timelines are determined by each individual supplier. Retailers should confirm expected fulfillment and shipping times directly with the supplier they are working with as the relationship is established. Shipping and Tracking information is located within your account.
- 05No. Only transaction-specific information, such as shipping details needed to fulfill an order, is shared with the supplier. Your broader customer database remains your property. In many cases, suppliers also periodically purge end-consumer data to further reinforce retailer confidence in customer privacy and data protection.
- 06Yes. Suppliers encourage retailers to use approved images and product descriptions to help maintain brand consistency across the network. Retailers have the flexibility to use supplier content as provided, modify descriptions within OrderEase, or further customize the content directly within their own storefront to better match their brand voice and customer experience.
- 07To stay informed on the latest OrderEase updates, system changes, and important notifications, we recommend regularly checking the OrderEase Help Portal. This is where all updates, announcements, and known issues are posted. You can also subscribe to any available notifications within your OrderEase account to receive alerts directly. Staying connected ensures you’re always aware of changes that may impact your catalogs, inventory, or integrations. See Portal Here.
- 08Each supplier manages their own policies within the E-Commerce Connect program. To view details on returns, cancellations, credit terms, and account setup requirements (such as credit card on file), simply visit the supplier’s individual page within the platform. Each supplier has a point of contact with email and phone number when reaching out with questions. All relevant policies and instructions are outlined there, so we recommend reviewing each supplier page before connecting to their catalog or placing orders. Visit the Supliers Page to click on each supplier to be taken to their individual detailed pages.
- 09Absolutely. E-Commerce Connect is designed to open the door to stronger supplier relationships. Many suppliers are open to supporting both your dropshipping and wholesale needs, helping you stock your physical location while growing your online presence. If you’re looking to expand into in-store inventory, suppliers are typically eager to collaborate. They want to ensure your success both online and offline, and see value in supporting your business across all channels. Working with the same supplier across both channels creates consistency in your offerings, strengthens your partnership, and helps streamline your operations.
- 10Plant shipping restrictions exist to protect local agriculture, ecosystems, and native plants. Different states have strict regulations that prevent the spread of invasive pests, diseases, and harmful plants that can travel through soil or plant material. For example, certain plants may carry insects like Japanese beetles or diseases such as citrus greening or fire blight—often invisible at the time of shipment but highly destructive once introduced to a new region. In other cases, specific plants are restricted because they are considered invasive or could threaten local industries (like citrus or cherry production). Because of this, suppliers must follow federal and state agricultural regulations, which may block certain plants from being shipped into or out of specific regions. These rules are not optional—they are enforced to prevent long-term environmental and economic damage. It’s a legal and environmental safeguard designed to protect local landscapes and industries. Please check each supplier's individual pages on our site for more details.
